Sync Your Contacts to Command Using PieSync

Authors list

PieSync is an application that will allow you sync your contacts to Command from other contact databases you use. PieSync’s two-way syncing keeps your data current in both systems to allow you to get the most out of your customer data. You are in control of what applications you connect to Command and the contact data you want to sync. For example, you can sync your Google contacts to Command and customize what details (e.g. tags, groups, etc.) are synced.

There is a 500 character limit when syncing contact descriptions If you go over this limit, when syncing, that contact will not sync over.

KW associates have access to special pricing with PieSync. You get one free connection (they will automatically make your largest connection free), then you get 50% off on any of PieSync's pricing plans.

Also, all connections between Command and other real estate apps are FREE.

To learn how to connect PieSync with Command, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to agent.kw.com with your KW login credentials.

2. Click your name, at the top right of the page, and choose Settings from the drop-down.

3. Find PieSync, in the Connections list and click Connect Account.

4. A window will appear displaying PieSyncs Terms and Conditions, click I accept when you are finished reviewing it.

5. From here, find and click on the app(s) you want to connect to Command.

6. Authorize the application you have selected to create your sync.

7. Click Configure the Sync.

Sync Type

  • Select your sync type by clicking one of the corresponding arrows.

In this example a one-way sync was selected:

- This sync option sync contacts between the application you selected and KW Command.  This option will be selected by default. This sync is selected by default.
- This sync option would only sync contacts from the application you select to KW Command. Contacts will never be created or updated in the application you selected.

- This sync option would only sync contacts from KW Command to the application that you have selected.

Connection Rules

After you have selected your sync type, you will then set your connection rules. Connection rules will define which contacts will sync and which contacts will not sync. If you have selected a one-way sync then you would have one connection rule by default. If you selected a two-way sync, then you would have two connection rules by default. Within each connection rule you have the option to add an If filter and a Then action:

IF filter - This will determine which contacts are going to sync over. Adding If filters will narrow down the amount of contacts that will pull over.

  • Click add filter to add any If Filters, if necessary, to the contacts that will be syncing into Command.

THEN action - This will determine what actions will happen if a contact does sync over from the application you selected, into Command.

  • Click add action to add any additional actions to the contact once it has synced into Command.

The Then action is also where you can have contacts tagged with Command system tags and any custom groups or tags that you have used in the application you're syncing to. Before you sync your contacts using PieSync, be sure to have your custom tags created in your Command Settings.

Two-Way Sync

According to the example above:

The first rule indicates that if a contact is in Google Contacts, and has a full name of any value (any full name), and it has a phone number then that contact will be synced from Google to Command. Once it has synced then Command will update the Lead Source and overwrite it with Google Contacts. If you were to remove the two If filters that were selected then that would mean: If any type of contact is in Google Contacts then it will sync to Command.

The second rule, which completes this two-way sync, indicates that if a contact is in KW Command, and has a full legal name of any value, and has a phone number, then it will sync between Command and Google Contacts.

One-Way Sync

According to the example above:

The rule indicates that if a contact is in Google Contacts, and has a full name of any value (any full name), and it has a phone number then that contact will be synced from Google to Command. Once it has synced then Command will update the Lead Source and overwrite it with Google Contacts. If you were to remove the two If filters that were selected then that would mean: If any type of contact is in Google Contacts then it will sync to Command.

Given the fact that this a one-way sync there will not be any rules for KW Command.

In the examples shown above, if a Google contact was synced with Command then the lead source will be updated to Google Contacts. This is due to the fact that any contact synced with Command, using PieSync will have the lead source listed as "PieSync" by default, so if you want to update your lead source you can do so by adding a Then action. For leads, you can add a Then action to mark the contact as a lead.
